Cultural Conflict
Collaboration across different cultures isn’t without challenges. Sometimes, the emergence of conflict between members is inevitable. And resolving cultural conflict in this kind of team might be challenging, but it’s really essential to be faced. Based on my experience, a problem that wasn’t be solved would only lead to a bad teamwork. It would cause a huge impact such as decreased productivity, lower morale, or increased stress level. Therefore, paying attention to such problem is very important.
Solving a conflict requires patience, understanding and a collaborative approach. Usually, I will try to manage emotions and stay calm in behaving. Thus, I could recognize the problem and find the root cause by identifying the symptoms of the conflict. Once I figure it out, creating a safe space for discussion is crucial. Because we could educate ourselves that cultural differences exist and must be respected. Open dialogue itself might help us to build awareness and promote understanding by encouraging honest communication among all parties. More than that, we must find common ground and working towards finding a mutually acceptable solution. As the result, we could work together harmoniously without erasing differences
